Wisconsin Municipal Mutual Insurance Company (WMMIC) was organized as a non-assessable mutual insurance company on November 1, 1987.
All public agencies in Wisconsin are eligible for WMMIC membership. For those entities interested in membership – WMMIC will discuss with the prospective member the best membership options and coverages available to ensure the membership will be beneficial to both WMMIC and the new member.
WMMIC is currently comprised of twenty members — three cities, fifteen counties and two special-use districts. Members purchase general liability (including law enforcement professional), auto liability and public officials’ errors and omissions liability from WMMIC. In addition, WMMIC provides other coverages for members such as excess workers’ compensation, cyber liability, auto physical damage and property. WMMIC also provides claims administration for members for their self-funded workers compensation programs.
WMMIC is governed by our members and is member focused. WMMIC exists for the service of our members. WMMIC is unique in Wisconsin in that we are a “not for profit” public entity which was formed by counties and cities, for counties and cities.
