Loss Control Guidelines

In order to ensure a safe working environment and control general and auto liability costs for the insured, WMMIC has developed Loss Prevention and Control Techniques. These guidelines are minimum safety and loss control elements for a proactive approach to loss prevention.

Self-Assessment Surveys

These surveys are intended for member use to assist in evaluating current programs, identifying areas for improvement, and measuring activities in relation to other members. There is some redundancy between surveys, such as checking MVR’s. While all areas are important, some areas are more important, so they are emphasized by focusing on the issues with more questions. The entire City/County need not be surveyed at once. Use the surveys for individual departments--just indicate the department on the survey. If you have any questions in using these surveys, please contact Kevin Murphy, Executive Director.

Sometimes determining what information is needed is difficult. Collecting this information can be made easy with WMMIC's Vehicle Accident Kits. The kits are most useful in police vehicles, highway trucks and parks department vehicles. The Vehicle Accident Kits contain:

Disposable Camera
Accident/Incident Report Form + Directions
Witness Cards
Vital Accident Information
Pen and Paper
Entity Contact Information
Information on what to do following an accident

The cost of each kit is $5.
